The Flatiron Building when completed in 1902 was one of the tallest skyscrapers in New York. This year it turns 120 years old. Another subject of the series dedicated to this marvelous skyscraper. This painting is inspired by a photo from around 1920, in this case it goes back 100 years. It is easy to see how the buildings behind and to the side are lower: this suggests how this building could stand out from the others in those years. Comparing it with one of my previous paintings, you notice how even the streets are thinner and less chaotic.
